For anyone participating in our area’s Fall youth sports programs, we know you have a lot to do in order to get ready for the upcoming season. There are annual physicals to schedule, gear and uniforms to organize, strength training and conditioning workouts to plan, practice, and competition schedules to put on the calendar, and the list goes on.
Athletic Trainers are highly skilled health care professionals who work to execute plans to address issues such as emergency and preventative care, environmental conditions, facility, and equipment safety, and other sports- and job-related matters. Athletic Trainers can help schools and community organizations better oversee injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.
UP Health System Rehab Services is proud to provide Certified Athletic Training services to several area schools, clubs, and events. Our team of experienced Athletic Trainers has been caring for the area’s athletes during games, practices, camps, and summer sports leagues for more than thirty years. Certified Athletic Trainers work alongside coaches, physicians, parents, and school administration, to provide the safest environment for student-athletes.
If an injury does happen, our Athletic Trainers are specialists in “on-the-field” acute care and will make sure that the proper follow-up care is provided quickly and safely. In many cases, the Athletic Trainer also takes part in the injured athlete’s rehabilitation, providing necessary protection when the athlete returns to their sport.
Our Athletic Trainers also provide free injury screens — such as injury screens for concussions — for community athletes of all types, year-round.
So as you prepare yourself and your family for the upcoming sports season, you can count on our dedicated, skilled Athletic Trainers to provide exemplary care when you need them.
