MARQUETTE – UP Health System is proud to announce Cardiologist Sylvie-Karine Giroux, MD, has joined its Heart & Vascular team.
Dr. Giroux is board-certified with special training in cardiovascular disease. She received her medical degree from Laval University in Quebec, Canada, and her cardiovascular disease diploma from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She has been practicing in the Sault Ste. Marie area since 2017.
“We are excited to have Dr. Giroux join our renowned heart & vascular team,” said Brian Sinotte, CEO of UP Health System – Marquette. “ She has extensive experience and will provide the residents of the Eastern Upper Peninsula with critical access to our world-class cardiology services.”
As a general cardiologist, Dr. Giroux will be providing heart and vascular disease screenings, chest pain evaluations, and cardiac stress testing. She will see new and existing patients at our visiting specialists’ clinic at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital in Newberry, MI.

Dr. Giroux joins UPHS medical staff Dr. Thomas Legalley, cardiologist, Dr. Rudy Evonich, Electrophysiologist, and Ashly Ellis, NP, in providing care to residents of the Eastern Upper Peninsula.
